Het Huisorkest is een gezelligheidsstudentenorkest uit Utrecht. Wij spelen muziek die we leuk vinden, wat leidt tot onze diverse muziekstijlen. Vaak zijn de producties een mix van klassiek, filmmuziek, jazz en pop/rock. Het orkest onderscheidt zich door iedere productie samen te werken met andere kunstvormen, denk aan: een verteller, solist, dansact of een kunstschilder. Op deze manier hopen we de afstand tussen verschillende kunstvormen te overbruggen, met twee spetterende producties per jaar als eindresultaat.
Het orkest bestaat uit strijkers, hout- en koperblazers, basgitaar, drums en piano. Iedere woensdagavond is er repetitie met achteraf een gezellige borrel om na te praten in de bar van Parnassos. Daarnaast hebben we een maandelijkse activiteit, repetitieweekenden en de jaarlijkse afsluitende barbecue.

Het huisorkest is a student orchestra located in Utrecht. We play anything we like, which gives rise to our well-known variety in genres. Our productions are a mix of classical, film music, jazz and pop/rock. Our orchestra distinguishes itself by coöperating with a different type of artform every production. Think of a tale-teller, solist, dancer, or painter. This way we hope to bridge the gap between different artforms, resulting in two amazing productions each year.
The orchestra consists of strings, woodwinds, brass, bass guitar, drums and piano. Every wednesday we rehearse, ending with some drinks afterwards in the Parnassos bar. On top of that we have a monthly activity, rehearsal weekends, and a yearly barbecue to finish off the year.
